Charleston and Savannah where have you been all my life!

What does travel mean to you? What does the Christmas holiday mean to you? What do friends mean to you....
I have been fortunate to meet many people in my life. I am an outgoing person that likes to engage with people from many diversities in life. I have started a 2 week trek for the holidays with my 2 children to make to our final destination of Stuart, Florida and decided to reconnect with friends that I have not gotten to engage in person with for years. I cherish my friends from their giving personalities to their ability to pick up where we left off and reengage.
When you realize your on a mission to get to Stuart, Florida to see family and have some time and can easily stop at Charleston, NC when you have made excuses in the past to keep driving past, you realize it was because there is someone there that you made a connection with a decade before and they never left your thoughts. To rush in like a ball of fire with 2 kids into a welcoming situation that does not have kids and they settle right into the dynamic of entertaining people that not only knew you 10 years prior but those that have no idea who you are and still make one of the most memorable times.... they are true life long friends. Experiencing an impressive dinner, great conversation, and a fishing trip that my kids will probably always remember (not to mention that in 30 years of fishing I am astounded by the action we experienced). Who has this type of experience? Well I did and I will bask In the memory forged by it for myself and my children.
Finding myself reconnecting with another true lifelong friend in Savannah that not only welcomes myself but seeing how my crazy spawn have developed through the years. Once again, open home, great conversation, and reliving the experiences that brought us together 2 decades prior.
My kids seem to love the friendships that I have had the pleasure of forming from a younger age and to see them fall right into a natural and loving bond with them does my heart good...
