Willy Caballero - C
Played the League Cup game against Bournemouth where he conceded. Only other match he could have realistically started would have been Qarabag, so it was not a great quarter for the backup.
Thibaut Courtois - A
Seven clean sheets from 12 games is an excellent return for any keeper and shows why Chelsea is willing to pay so much to keep him. Signing that contract should be priority #1 for Chelsea.
Ethan Ampadu - B
For a 17-year old who was in League Two last year, two starts against Premier League opposition where he held his own is a big win. This kid is only going to go upwards if he continues to impress.
Cesar Azpilicueta - A
Azpilicueta captained the side four times during the period in mostly successful circumstances. His early season fumbles were fixed as he became a solid option whilst providing assists from deep.
Gary Cahill - B
As always, Cahill was no fuss as he went about his business. He has had a few small hiccups here and there, but for the most part there has been little he could have done better during the quarter.
Andreas Christensen - A
With David Luiz out injured, Christensen had top billing in virtually every match. As always he was cool, calm, and collected, and had at most one poor game, from which he quickly rebounded.
David Luiz - D
Played one match against Qarabag, was benched the next two, and was injured until the New Year. For a player of his reputation, that can only be seen as a horrid few months.
Antonio Rudiger - B
Rudiger, at times, can be quite excellent. He is also prone to lapses, which is the biggest thing keeping him on the bench and keeping him from taking Cahill’s spot.
Marcos Alonso - A
Alonso is Chelsea’s second highest goal scorer this season and that should come as no surprise to anyone. The Spaniard has been steady as can be and the only thing he needs are rest days.
Kenedy - D
Despite being the only rotation option for Alonso, Kenedy only played one game during the quarter. He did little to impress during it and a loan would be the best case for him.
Victor Moses - C
Moses shows brief spurts of good form but often looks as though he is struggling. He could have a lingering injury, but the fact of the matter is that he has not been up to par as of late.
Davide Zappacosta - C
Despite Moses’ sinking form, Zappacosta struggled to take his starting spot. But the Italian has been growing as Moses is shrinking and the balance may shift shortly.
