Chennai (Tamilnadu) - A country within country

This is my first blog and i want to write about my native Chennai

I believe everyone will be aware of Chennai as it is the capital city of Tamilnadu. even an entire life is not enough to cover about Chennai, but i will try my best to shed light on this heaven on earth called "Chennai"

Chennai is completely different from the rest of India and it has always know for it's communal harmony even during the difficult times when the communal line runs deep in most of north Indian states. Chennai has always known for it's unity wherein you will find it difficult to differentiate between Hindus, Muslims and Christians.

Some of them says that we are still living in old age and do not catch up the western trend when it comes to clothing and lifestyle which has been adopted by most of the Indians. I would say whoever says we are still living in old age have no idea of what we are, Chennai is one of the Metropolitan cities of India and people from all over India and abroad come down to Chennai for the advanced treatment and we got Malls, Multiplexes, entertainment theme parks, World's second largest beach "Marina Beach", World class transport (Local buses, Local Trains throughout the city and surrounding towns and villages, Fly over train, Metro, Autos, Share autos, Cab services.

Communal Harmony :
You will see Mosques, Temples and Churches will be next to each other as we all respect each other's faith and live together without any sort of religious spat.

Chennai is the lifeline for most the Tamilnadu people as it has numerous IT parks and BPO industries. Apart from this, Chennai is also know as manufacturing hub for vehicles.

Term which Chennaites (people of Chennai) hates the most "It's too hot in Chennai", it's a matter of common sense as Chennai has got the world's second largest beach and it's obvious that the temperature will be humid and the city has made many sacrifice by chopping off it's trees to accommodate the migrants workers and their family who come in search of bread and butter to Chennai as the city has a tag line "Chennai will never send back anyone hungry who believed in it's soil".

Food to try:
I would not suggest any Five star hotel or expensive hotels but i would suggest to go for local vendors and street side foods as you will find people selling food on carts. Trust me these people sell food and consider it as a service (not money minded), Still i would suggest few spots for food as follows:

Any roadside food cart

Ya Mohideen Biryani (Pallavaram)

Sundari Akka Kadai(It's a food cart at Marina Beach)

Tips for outsiders:
If you ever visit Chennai i would request you all to avoid taking Auto Rickshaw as they are the only people whom even people of Chennai hates because they will never use the fare meter and demand unrealistic demand, You can use google map to get the best route and take government transport as you will have trains and buses covering every single inch of the city and outskirt.

We the people of Tamilnadu are peace loving who believe in unity, simplicity and hard work, we respect every culture and down to earth.

One last tip:
Don't go by the looks of people as you never know who is who but one thing for sure, everyone is kind hearted and helpful)

If you ever get a chance visit Chennai at least once and you cannot stop yourself from visiting again.
