Observation of an idiom: Using Ꮵ- + ᏄᏍᏗ in combination with ᎯᎠ when referring to a previously mentioned topic.

in cherokee •  7 years ago

In the following sentence, where "this" is being used to refer to the previously mention "matter", the Cherokee is also using "Ꮵ-" (before referenced) to clearly indicate ᎯᎠ ᏄᏍᏗ is in reference to something already referenced in the conversation.

ᎾᏉᏃ ᏧᏁᎶᏗ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎸᎩ ᎠᏁᏢᏗᏍᎩ, ᎤᏟ ᎢᎦ ᏗᏍᏉᏏᏌᏏ ᎯᎠ ᏥᏄᏍᏗ.
Chr. Then said Christian to the Interpreter, Expound this matter more fully to me.
