Chess: A moment of tension, deciding how to proceed

This was a very interesting position I just had in a game.
At this moment there is still a lot of tension, but black has a large army near the white king, while the white army has gone to do other things.
I think black has a lot of reasonable moves to proceed from this position, but I decided that forcing matters with f4-f3 would be strong, and my opponent stepped away from what he needed to do right away, I had analysed
2.g3 fxe2 3.gxh4 Qg3+

A small note white probably should exchange rooks, to not loose a whole rook, might be able to salvage this a bit then.

However another try gave perhaps worse chances.
Perhaps better 2.gxf3 Nxf3+ 3.Kh1 Ng3+ 4.Nxg3 Qxg3 5.Rg2 Qxh3+

Although there were better variations for black, this is sufficient, and more importantly this was the line I was considering during the game
