The prizes were just delivered. One remained on hold since The_Mistery_Pawn's identity is unknown to me!
Not many people participated, even fewer supported advertising the tournaments (or, at least, RESTEEMING).
Sadly, I've come to realize that creating community activities is a rather impossible task.

They rather have less participants to compete against for a couple of bucks than really enjoying playing chess. Seriously guys: You suck
I am disgusted by the community, with that sort of attitude no community project will ever prevail. I find INSULTING that only a couple of people that did not even participate in the tournament fed @steem.chess posts just so that a coupe of leeches could come to reap the benefits. It is ABUSE of good will.

oh vey... found u 2min ago. because someone linked your tournament and what can i say; it´s sad to read that. but u´re right, people are selfish ! even in a mostly free platform like steemit :/ i would had support these kind of tournaments, but looks like it´s to late !? well, still thanks for the idea

yeah i kinda agree with you but i also feel that the hard fork 19 has taken in efect and in my opinion, reduces the rewards ...look your tournament 13 days ago you had 27 upvotes and 68$ reward now you have 27 upvotes and 7.43$. So yeah it think the blame is not only on the community.

I did resteem. Too bad I don't have that many followers yet. Or maybe there aren't that many chess fans in steemit atm. Overall I liked the tournament even if I lost most of the games.
