Brendio and his lovely, expectant wife are fellow Aussies, although the distance between us would cover 3 or 4 countries in Europe.
A few years ago, there was a grass/scrub fire, between brendio and I.
It burnt through an area the size of Alabama, and nobody went out to fight it, since it wasn't inconveniencing anyone.

It would not make sense to defend knight after white king attacks it. You just take the rook anyway and build on the advantage.
If white king choose to take knight, he will be forced into a mate as the only way for him to survive a check from queen (after moving the king from the D line) would be go into black's territory. And that is a mate in couple of moves. So your move is the best possible for now, which will finish up white's chances.
As for white, he will prob just move his king back to his territory.
