My wallet shot up to around 600 steem, then ground to a halt. Took me far too long to realise we're being paid in steem dollars again, instead of regular steem.
Just to clarify, although I technically only offered all of my steem to a winning black team, I think it would be a little cheap and disingenous to not include steem dollars in that.Any thoughts on whether/not I should convert those dollars to steem now, or wait until the end of the match?
I'd like to focus on @blocktrades today, but he/she is something of an enigma.
No photos, no background; apparently it's some sort of crypto-exchange hive mind which is good at math.
So in their/her/his honour, I'll take a closer look at the sums of money, instead.
If we ballpark, 600 steem at 0.20, plus $100 in SBD, that gives us around $220 US
We have 103 upvotes so far, making them worth about $2.13 each.
Assuming a black win yesterday:
@blocktrades would be looking at $96,
@armen $77,
@brendio $28,
and the others less than $10 each.
This has fired up my formula itch, so I might look at adding in a total current/potential payout column to my chart from tomorrow.
Also, great to have you on the board, @writingamigo.
I recently recruited a good friend and colleague. He has a personable, friendly nature, and the chiselled physique of a greek statue.
He's blogging on strength and wellness and absolutely knows his content.
I'll be recruiting and mentoring one real life friend each month, and promoting them at the end of each post.

no, it's mate: after king->e2, queen to d2 (check), king to f3 is only response, followed by queen to f2 (mate)

His king can take cover in C4 and further to B/A.His rook/knight can still rock ;)

yes, this is his only possible sequence, although I wasn't going to point it out :-) I still think we can finish there, because he's quite exposed in the middle of the board. It looks like we can likely keep him in check until we checkmate him. The reason why I prefer this move is it leaves our knight most able to be useful during this pursuit, and also it covers the space where his knight is, so that if he moves his knight it doesn't become a space he can flee to.

Question. ? Im still doing 100% steem power up ! Should i be since the hard fork ? Or is it better to go back to 50/50 ? Im not good at these things its confuseing to me lol ! Thanks for everything! Steem on ! 😉

If you aren't looking to use the funds in the short-term and believe in the longer term value prospects of Steem it still makes sense to get paid 100% in Steem Power. Since the hard fork you can actually access the Steem quicker than previously.
On the other hand, inflation of Steem is no lower, so you are penalised less for holding Steem that is not powered up.

So do i earn more by holding Steem Dollars ? What would you do !? 🤔

If you're not planning on cashing out soon, best to power up 100%.
A: Your post gets a little steem logo so people can see its 100% SP. This is likely to attract more upvotes.
B: Your curation rewards (Upvoting a post which goes on to be successful) are based on your SP balance.
Power up unless you're going to need it in the near future.

Personally I go 50/50 simple because why not. If you need some steem no need to power down.

I think this is the winning move. Next move is queen to D2 or D4 depending on where he moves his king and I think we have mate!
No chance to escape, unlike my and blocktrades' suggested moves. The position of the knight protects the attacking queen.

On second thoughts, he could block the queen with his knight. Let me think this over some more ...

We take that with our queen. It buys him an extra move (and gives time for a bit more steem to be added to the winning kitty), but I believe there is still no escape.
So sequence would be Black D4b3. White C3d5. Bl D8d5, Wh D3 to either C3 or E2. If E2, then Bl queen D5 to C2. If C3, then black knight F6 to anywhere out of the way of the bishop at G7 for the mate.
Have I overlooked anything?

seems like possible escape here with king moving to c4, b3, a2 (well, bishop can probably prevent that sequence at least, or no, because knight can capture bishop). It's a long sequence to read out, and no time to look more now :-)
