Value Abuse

I remember growing up in the village with my siblings and peers, and how we loved playing table tennis (ping pong). When we had lost our bats, and cannot carve out another from any piece of wood, we resulted to breaking my father’s ceiling to make bats.

We started in the store room where he hardly visited and after we had finished breaking the entire ceiling for bats, we went to the car park and the children’s sitting room. He was disappointed at the action and even though we were severely punished for it, the action did not stop then. We even did the same thing in school and everywhere else in the house that he (daddy) will not notice on time.

We did not know the value of the ceiling sheets, we did not even know the cost of it or the main reason for it been in the house and we abused it. We did not even care to understand or realize the importance of a ceiling sheet in the house and so we used it for the wrong purpose. Most people do the same on themselves; they do not know the value, cost and importance of their lives and they abuse themselves.

Abuse is inevitable when the value of a thing is not known; and the cost is severe irrespective of the level of ignorance.

Every abuse on you or your destiny is external. No matter how bad or painful such abuse may be including a rape, it does not change your God’s given destiny unless you allow it to. But the abuse on yourself is internal and can mar your destiny without you even knowing it.

Don’t abuse you… it is time to know who you are and function appropriately with your worth to fulfill the purpose you were created to fulfill.

Love this post. Value YOU. I was just telling a friend this who struggles with alcohol...and said "you don't value yourself" and "you don't think you're capable of great things." We ALL are.

Keep these coming :)

Inspiring, I've gotten reasons why I shouldn't give up or look down on myself because of people's opinion...not facts, thank you

Wow...great lesson..When the value a something is not known and appreciated, abuse is inevitable..Thanks for your post.
