Generally I love art even though I don't know how to do some parts of art which is drawing. I know how to draw a little but not really beautiful as an artist. Even with that I like engaging my toddler each time I do a craft work and she likes it so much.

I noticed that she normally go about with her pencil ✏️ and paper and she keep saying "draw" So with this I like paying attention to her and helping her to draw anything she wish to write.

She is still a baby because she is just one year old. She is really smart and brilliant that her age she know how to talk. She know how to identify some colours, she know how to identify some alphabet and she know how to recite alphabet and numbers.

With this smartness, I don't hesitate to stop teaching her and giving her all the materials use for writing. Although it will not be something that comes out very fine but at least it helps her to build her motto skills.

Playing with building block

Then another thing that I do to help her with her motor skill is building block. This block has really helped her to develop her motor skills and helps to develop her cognitive and reasoning skills, she like playing with it. She like building anything with it, the blocks really keep her busy each day.

Watch her playing with building block

Just as mentioned in the lecture, The benefits of drawing and painting to a child especially a growing child is something any parent will want to miss. So as a parent I take it upon myself to work on this regards even though my daughter can't really talk but at her age she have to learn some basic things she needs to know at her age.

Today was just my first time of trying to teach her how to paint and it was really interesting although it wasn't easy

From the lecture I have noticed that it is very necessary for a child to learn how to paint and draw I was still giving her time at least till 2 years then I will start teaching her, but this lecture has encouraged me to start now and to help her so as to develop some basic learning skills that she need.

Watch her, Identifying colours

So from my observation today, She was so busy with full concentration as I was showing her how to paint. In fact, she did the painting and refused to stop when I told her it's enough. At this point she was already getting herself dirty from the colour paint.

So I decided to draw a bird something she can identify and she was so happy. The bird was not very perfect but I tried my best.

Sketching bird

First I sketched my drawings with pencil, She was with me but she was busy with building block. It was her first time seeing me drawing. So she didn't really have interest, I tried my best but she resisted so I was patient and then tried other ways that will attract her to the drawing.

Finished sketching my bird

After sketching the bird, I showed her and she identified it that it was a bird. Oh I was really happy that at least I still know how to draw and by this time, she still didn't have interest so I decided to apply some colours to some part of the bird to attract her.

Painting bird with my daughter

At this point, I got her interest and so she accepted to paint the remaining parts of the bird with me. Here we are doing the painting, Of course I knew the result of the painting that she will spoil the drawing so we actually painted any colour she chooses to maintain good atmosphere.

Doing the painting together

I captured that interest as she continued the remaining part of the painting she painted until she painted her clothes, her face and everything on her was the paint. She was so happy to do and the exploration was exciting as she discovered another part of learning.

Finally we achieved something

She is just 1-year-old so the remaining parts of the contest that has to do with interviewing the child about her experience of the drawing, We can't do it because she can't really talk.

But I did some video with her while we were doing the drawing and she expressed herself you are free to watch the YouTube videos to see as my 1-year-old daughter expresses herself.

Watch us doing painting

I am the happiest person as I have discovered another learning skill to use on my daughter she will really do the painting. She likes it and I'll buy a pencil crayon for her so that she will be using it to do any drawing that she feels like while guiding her.

Thank you so much for this teaching I really benefit from it and my daughter benefits too.

I would like to invite @udyliciouz @goodybest and @dequeen to share their experiences in this contest while teaching their children.

Wow this is amazing i had to watch the video over and over again, i used to have this thought of letting my baby reach a certain age like 2 or 3 before introducing things like craft and art even colour identification to her but this post have given me a push and 100% encouragement not to wait that long. I know it takes great effort to get here but you know as a parent we are always ready to go to any lengths to see our children succeed academically, i also appreciate steemit team for this wonderful exercise.

Yes sure is good 👍

Try and engage your child early to learning it helps, my daughter was introduced to black and white play cards colours and patterns very early and it helps her.

I am proud of you because most mothers do not let their children touch these types of colors because they think they will destroy them, dirty their clothes, unclean the ground, eat the colors, and so on. But, you in her first year, without any fear, offer her freedom to play with the colors. That is what we should do as parents: give their children to freedom to gather their own experiences; this is how a successful child grows.
Even if you said that you are not bright enough to draw, your sketch demonstrates that you can draw. Your daughter will one day follow in your footsteps and begin drawing and painting. Good luck with the competition.

They need that freedom as they are growing, I monitored her so she won't put any colour in her mouth because it is hazardous to her health but atleast she was happy to explore this beautiful world of art.

Thank you for your nice commendable comment I appreciate your visit. I'm motivated to keep up with the work

Under our supervision, we may provide our child with freedom that is never harmful to them. Your kind feedback is much appreciated.

Yes sure 😃

I appreciate your contribution as well

🧡

It is often a case that parents start doing something for their children or with their children and slowly get interested and even got better. You have done a good presentation of your work, with description of what you used and also it was nice sketch. Sketch is often one of the important step if that is done well then colouring will be easier. Nice work with paints and very accurate.#

It seems your baby really enjoyed that, but I bet she will enjoy better painting using her fingers too :)

You're doing great work by catching her young! I can tell by her expression that she loves the activities you engage her with. I hope to join this contest soon!
