The little silly things about Children

As parents we all have our challenges with our children, and we have to deal with it no matter if we like it or not. We have to understand as parents that even though they are our Children they do have their own personality, even if they are young.

My Son is now 25, so not that I have to bother much about him. He is still a person who falls back on me time and again even at this age. This is about him growing up. As a child he was always very peaceful and calm, I never really had much of a hassle managing him, unlike some notorious children who always keep their parents on toes. At the same time there were challenges of different nature.

As hilarious as it may sound, in his school days he had this habit of always forgetting to tell me about his project work. It would always happen that just the day prior to submission of his project work he would tell me that he has to make a project and submit and that too he would inform me late in the evening time. And then there would be all the rushing that needs to be done. This was the only most challenging part for me. His Teacher would never mention about the Project work in their Diaries, so I would be clueless.

I would keep a track of his daily school work and he will happily say, nothing to do Mom, and then a day before the project submission, he will say, ohh Mom, shit I forgot to inform you, I have to submit the project tomorrow. I have to then rush to the stationary shop to get all the project materials, and it would always happen that by the time we complete it would be mid-night.

Thinking of it, I miss those days now. Whatever, it was fun and exciting. Now also he is a last minute person. If I tell him, Yohan get ready by 8, we have to go out, then 10 minutes before he will go for his bath and start getting ready. If I get annoyed with him, he will tell me, Chill Mom, don't be so fixed up on time. No matter what, I can never get angry at him, and he knows that. If I get annoyed with him, he will come and kiss me and that's the end of it all :-)

Children are precious to us, with all their flaws also we accept them wholeheartedly and never complain, but ya we may not have the same tolerance towards others. I guess the feeling of Motherhood is designed in that way by the Universe where it's just pure Love and Compassion.

It is still the same with him, he will tell me things last minute or do his things in that manner. I do not have much to do with him at this age, but small things like, I ask him to do some shopping during his Birthday or other special occasions, he will either go and do it a day before or some times even on the same day. I am very different, I prepare myself for everything well in advance and I can't stand this last minute thing, but yes he has taught me tolerance....hahaha. When I tell him, Yohan, why are you always like this, doing your things last minute, then he tells me, Mom, why are you like this, always in a hurry. So it's a matter of perspective.

Whatever it is, it is fun and the spice of life, dealing with them. So what are these little silly challenges that you face with your Children, do share them. I always enjoy talking about him and his silly ways.
