The tremor was of magnitude 6.3 degrees, with epicenter 47 kilometers north of Camina.
The areas where he felt most strongly were in the regions of Arica and Parinacota, as well as in Tarapaca and Antofagasta.
The local authorities indicated that so far there are no reported injured people, nor alterations in basic services or infrastructure.
They added that the characteristics of the earthquake do not meet the necessary conditions to generate a tsunami on the coasts of Chile.
