just spent 3 weeks in China. Went to regional cities such as Nanchong, Chengdu, Chongqing. very interesting. main takeaways are:
1.) they are mad drivers but still felt safe. Even on pedestrian crossings when the lights are green, you are still dodging cars.
2.) food is actually very nice (even though I was not sure what I was eating)
3.) People were very nice, and they went out their way to make me feel welcome. Not many could speak English .!(

The cities you have visited are actually quite big ones... If you can i would recommend you to visit Tier3 or Tier4 cities to feel real China.
