The annual foreign expert physical exam journey

in china •  8 years ago

CHANGSHA, HUNAN -- I teach in China, and every year we foreign experts and teachers have to get a physical exam -- chest X-ray, blood test, EKG, BP, and ultrasound of our abdomen. For me, that requires a trip to the provincial capital, Changsha.

Instead of a five-hour bus ride, this time we took a car to Huaihua to pick up the high speed rail to Changsha. It's a little quicker (four hours) and much more comfortable. Tomorrow we go to the clinic, get tested, and then can do what we like.

I took some photos along the way of some of the towns and villages between Huaihua and Changsha. Hope you like them.

Nice post. I took the high speed rail from Shanghai to Beijing recently and was really impressed with it. Found it more convenient than flying.

China's high speed rail is really very good, and compared to Japan's, more affordable.
