The Chinook ETS is the most unusual car presented at the Movin'On automotive conference taking place these days in Montreal. This is the sixth version of the "windy" car, developed by a group of students from the University of École de Technologie Supérieure.
The transformer installed on the vehicle turns the wind power "trapped" by the blades of the turbine into electrical energy, which is transmitted directly to the motor. The battery pack of Chinook ETS does not. This solution allowed the developers to minimize the weight of the car, capable of accelerating to 46 km / h.
Each following generation of Chinook ETS becomes more perfect and unique. The new prototype features a shorter wheel axle, a higher turbine seating and the ability to move against the direction of the wind.
"Wind" car of the next generation, the project of which has already been developed and is waiting for its hour, enthusiasts plan to equip a more voluminous turbine and inside wheels, which will make the construction 25 kg lighter. The seventh generation of the Chinook ETS will weigh 95 kg, while the weight of the presented car is 125 kg.
