We all love chocolates. Why shouldn't we? It comes in different flavors and tastes really yummy. Licking chocolate is a real fun to all age group.
People often complaint that eating chocolates leads to teeth and gums problems,diabetes, obesity, saturated fat that may increase your chances of heart diseases and many more.
But, it is only true to some extent. In fact chocolates which are rich in Cocoa and less in sugar content are really beneficial for us. You won't feel guilty after reading this post when you will eat chocolate next time.
Health benefits of eating rich cocoa chocolates
Boosts brain power: How eating chocolates can improve brain power. Different studies had suggested that eating chocolates can increase the blood flow to brain for few hours and hence boosts our short term memory. It also improves our concentation power and helps in good sleep.
Weight Loss: Eating dark chocolates(> 70% cocoa) even aids to your weight loss. It gives you rich filling and hence you eat less. It is also rich in fibers which again helps you to loose weight.
Rich source of antioxidants: Cocoa is a rich source and has wide variety of antioxidants in it. And antioxidant helps us in building immunity, fighting radicals and diseases.
Great for skin: Eating chocolate with more than 70% cocoa is great for your skin. It contains flavonoid which protects us from sun-iduced damage, improve blood flow and increase skin density and hydration which in turn beneficial for our skin.
Cholesterol control: Dark chocolate reduces low density lipoprotein(LDL) which is considered as bad cholesterol. It sticks on the inner walls of arteries and reduces the blood flow. Dark chocolate reduces the impact of LDL and hence leads to improve our health.
Reduces heart diseases: Dark chocolates helps in blood flow, lower blood pressure which in turn saves us from many heart diseases. In future, doctor might start prescribing chocolates to heart patients. Consuming a small amount of dark chocolate everyday may reduces the risk of diabetes as well.
Dark chocolates are nutritious: Dark chocolates are also rich in fiber, iron, magnesium, potassium and other required minerals.
Dark chocolates helps you building stamina, reduces tiredness and keeps you fit.
After seeing a good list of benefits, it's obvious that our craving for eating chocolates would have been increased. But along with these benefits, chocolate is also full of calories. So, it should be consumed in moderation.
And we should trust only good brands for chocolates greater than 70% cocoa to get best our of it. Many products in the market claims to have >70% cocoa content, but this is not the actual case. Don't go by the packing, trust on the brand and the content inside.
I personally love Lindt dark chocolates with 70% and 85% rich cocoa. Many people spit after eating these as these chocolates taste bitter than other chocolates which contains high sugar, but real chocolate lover like me find this bitterness sweet :)
