Earlier this month, Marvel fans were stunned to learn that Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn had been let go from his position on the franchise's third installment.
In a statement from Walt Disney Studios, the company which owns the franchise, chairman Alan Horn announced that they would be severing ties with Gunn.
More recently, though, Chris Pratt posted "An Open Letter from the Cast of Guardians of the Galaxy," directed towards the issue.
The letter, which was shared on Instagram, outlined the cast's full support of James Gunn, their shared interest in Gunn's reinstatement as the director of Guardians Vol. 3, and their intention to work with the director in the future.
The letter also critiqued what it called a "mob mentality" in the assassination of Gunn's character.
Cast members who signed the message include Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Michael Rooker (Yondu), and Pom Klementieff (Mantis)
