Values that reflect the Character of God in our life.

Hello dear fellow steemians...

Last Sunday, the pastor of my church spoke about 3 distinctive values that are reflections of the character of God in the life of the Christian: These values are:

Love
Mercy
Forgiveness

These values must accompany us throughout our life and be reflected in it. It is like a kind of gear system that works in an integral way.

1- LOVE

Only the love of God can sustain the heart. This LOVE causes MERCY, in spite of ourselves, and has given us FORGIVENESS. The opposite of this would be to be in rebellion or disobedience. Loving our brothers, however difficult it may be, is an order not a suggestion and does not depend on whether we feel it or not. IT IS AN ACT OF OBEDIENCE. Only those who understand the redeeming work of Christ in their lives can attend to this order. We are not born again to be glorified ourselves, but for God to be glorified. He who has the Spirit of God practices Love.

1 John 4: 7-8
Beloved, let us love one another; because love is from God. Everyone who loves, is born of God, and knows God.

2- WE MUST HAVE MERCY.

Mercy is when the hand is extended to the needy who does not have or does not deserve it. It is united with GRACE..

Colossians 3:12
Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, of tender mercy, of kindness, of humility, of meekness, of patience;

3- WE MUST FORGIVE

Love summarizes in itself the fulfillment of the whole law, and the love of God has given us forgiveness, therefore, we must practice forgiveness. These are Values that we can not disclaim. They are values that are in the nature of God. And because we are partakers of the divine nature, these must also be our values.

God has clothed us with holy garments and as children of God we must walk.

Colossians 3:13
supporting one another, and forgiving one another if one has a complaint against another. In the way that Christ forgave you, so also do you.
