And they gathered it(the manna) every morning...
Exodus 16:21

In the wilderness, God gave the Israelites manna every day. They were supposed to go for a fresh one every single morning and not depend on yesterday's manna for today. Those who disobeyed and stored the previous day's manna realised it was spoilt and non consumable.
Manna represents God's word(rhema) and like in the days of the wilderness, God expects that we go to Him every morning for a new one and not depend on the previous day's. Moses was asked to speak to the rock in Numbers 20:7 but instead, he depended on the former instruction in Exodus 17:6 and struck the rock. Even though it produced the same result, this disobedience cost him his entry into the promise land.
The lesson from this is even in similar life situations or challenges, we should always ask God what to do and not necessarily depend on what he told us to do previously. For instance, maybe the last time someone was sick He asked you to lay your hands on him but at another time He may tell you to simply pray and you will need to obey.

LIFE APPLICATION
Every morning, go to God for a fresh word to live the day.
Even when you have encountered a similar challenge in the past , ask God for his direction on how to deal with the new.

PRAYER
Give me each day my daily bread.
