NOT TOO BIG FOR GOD

And when they were come into the house, they saw a young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold and frankincense and myrrh.
Matthew 2:11

What the wise men did on that Christmas day was rather odd. They offered up very expensive gifts to a baby boy born in a manger. What at all can he do with them? Some people might even describe it as a waste of precious gifts yet these men offered these things and are described by the Bible as being wise.
In our world today and even in the church, there are some who perceive their gifts and giftings as being too 'high' to be used by God or the church. They see their tithe as too much for the church to make use of; their talents as too great to be limited by the church; their time to, too precious to be spent in prayer or on the thinge of God. They say, "Why not spend these things on something more profitable. Something that would develop you" They see offering to God as foolishness. Yet the Bible describes the wisdom of God as foolishness to the world.
It takes the wisdom of God to know the true value of things, people and opportunities. And this wisdom is received as we go through the scriptures. It was the reading of the book of the prophets that gave the wise men insight to know the significance of the season they were in (Mt 2:5). And it is your reading of the scriptures that would enable you to know the true power in giving (Luke 6:38) in forgiveness, in random acts of kindness, and so on and so forth.

No worth of giving or sacrifice is greater than the church deserves.
