He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
Considering the many blessings that are found in the presence of God many Christians only come to his presence asking and seeking to attain these blessings. Their main agenda is to receive their protection, their direction, their strength, etc. and they forget about the God who provides all these things and about fellowshipping with him.
To avoid this mistake one must recognize that not only does God have all that we desire but he also is all that we desire. Psalm 18:2 says, "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer my God, my strength in whom I will trust, my buckler and the horn of my salvation and my high tower. This verse as well as many others reveals Jesus as the very commodity we are seeking for (Psalm 27:1, 1 Cor. 1:30). Therefore we must enter into his presence not just seeking something but someone. Not just desiring some detatched blessing but the entire person of Jesus. As we receive and experience more of God and his presence, we would experience more of his blessings as well. His direction and wisdom and strength would not just be abstract concepts but tangibly experienced in our very lives.
