Cease not to give thanks for you making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give unto you the spirit if wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know what is the hope of his calling. Ephesians 1:16-17
It is said that the first and most important questions everyone must ask himself is, 'who am I?' and 'what am I supposed to do on this earth?' Yet there is another question that is of greater importance and is so foundational that it must precede these questions, that is, 'who is Christ?'
In Matthew 16:17,18 Peter stumbles upon the revelation of who Christ is and soon after is shown not just who he is by Jesus, but what he's been called to do. Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works." When we know where we came from (that is Christ) we would know who exactly we are and what we were designed to fulfill on this earth.
So how can we gain a revelation of Jesus Christ? Paul answers this question in the opening verse when he says he ceases not to make mention of the people in Ephesus in prayers that they receive the spirit of revelation. That's the key; praying for it. As we cease not to pray for this revelation, our Father in heaven shall grant us that privilege to know Jesus anew and this shall spark a series of revelations that shall lead one unto the path of purpose and destiny.
