"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have."
"Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust,
and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what
you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you."
Hebrews 13:5
My grandmother used to say: "Know 2 and 200". Meaning, weather you have very little, or plenty, you can enjoy it and it can be enough for YOU. We don't have to participate in the "rats race" around the clock, chacing for more and more and more. When always wanting for more, we don't enjoy and appreciate what we have.
When we trust that we have and will have everything that we need, we can enjoy what we have, our life is simple and fulfilled. "More" will not make us happier.
Make also the distinction between "having thing" and "craving thing". "Having things" is fine, but it's a problem when we lust after things. We can ask God for anything, and believe He will provide what we really need.
Enjoying the journey of life is our true happiness. Any destination is just another starting point to go further with our journey. Enjoy where you are and what you have. Be content with it and thank God for it.
