In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Let's take a step back to the season before light came, in the creation story. The whole earth was without form and void, lacking in shape, order, anddescribable content. It was so disorganized that the Spirit of God could not exist in it, He was hovering over it.
That was how He hovered over us in our days before salvation. When the light of the gospel illuminated our hearts and we became born again, He moves in to grow our inner man unto Christlikeness. Oh what a joy, when we have Him abiding within in His capacity as the teacher, enabler, and comforter.
May we receive grace not to grieve Him, because He does not exist in chaos, He can only hover until order is restored. Seeing that we have such a wonderful person, willing to abide and help us, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
The practice of sin causes inner chaos and our helper does not abide in disorder. May all our hearts be full of the joy of His abiding presence.
Great post crownsamuel, It's true. Conviction comes when we do wrong, and it does cause our hearts to be unsettled. I'm so thankful for the mercy that God has for each of us.
I really loved reading this, thank you for sharing it.
