No matter how was bad things turn ,we cannot deny the fact that God is just and fair in His relation with humanity . He is a lover of equity and fairness and expects us to demonstrate same in our dealings with our fellow men. This position has been laid out both in the old and new testaments.

Gladly turn with me to ;
Exodus 30:15

[15]The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel when [you] give this offering to the Lord to make atonement for yourselves".

As we see above ,God didn't expect the rich to give higher than the poor. Everyone was to give the same ration. God's intent is to ensure that none is treated highly more than the other because of financial or physical possessions.

In the new testament, we see a clearer picture of today. Turn with me to :
James 2:2-4

[2]For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

[3] And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

[4] Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?"

The Christian man or woman is not to accord respect to anyone based on what he has but based on the true fact that he is Human Being - a progeny of God. Respect and love all men irrespective of what they possess.

A funny event occurred sometime ago. Two couples were wedded on the same day. One was a politician and the other was a member without a rank. At the end of the church service, nearly everyone went for the politician's reception leaving the other brethren to their families, friends and those who are sympathetic to their course.

It was too unfortunate that with all the acclamation of love that members wore and the deceitful smiles and hugs, deep down in their hearts were barriers and stratas that God never created Money, food and souvenirs were the determinant not love.

Don't flock around people because they are rich and famous. Let love and godly character be your true yardstick for association. Praise be to God!
