Now we can go further about the relationship between the head (Christ) and the body (church).
"And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence", (Colossians 1:18).
In light of this verse, Christ is the head of the church which is his body bought with his own precious blood. As Christ is the head of the church, there must be a lasting relationship between them. I can't imagine without the head how the body would work. No doubt without the head the body can do anything itself. So is between Christ and his body, the church.
Below are my lists that the church must to be to his head, Christ:
- The church must be subject to Christ
- The church must be united with Christ
- The church must work in glad service for Christ
- The church must take direction from Christ.
