If there count me therefore a partner -

The word rendered "accomplice" ( κοινωνὸς koinōnosmeans "a partaker, a friend." The thought in the word is that of having something in like manner ( κοινὸς koinos) with any one - as basic standards; regular connections; a typical enthusiasm for a venture; basic expectations. It might be connected to the individuals who hold similar standards of religion, and who have a similar any expectation of heavenly kingdom, similar perspectives of things, and so on.

Here the importance is, that if Philemon viewed Paul as imparting to him in the standards and any expectations of religion, or as a brother in the gospel with the goal that he would receive him Paul, he should get Onesimus similarly. He was impelled by similar standards, and had similar expectations, and had a claim to be received as a Christian brother. His receiving back Onesimus would be translated by Paul as evidence that he viewed him as a partaker of the hope of the gospel, and as a partner and companion. For a supplication for benefit of another.

See Ephesians 9.
