That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” - Mark 4:35-40

God cannot help you when you are in unbelief. Today's key scripture attests to this truth. Jesus, having attended to the situation, rebuked the disciples pointing out a major flaw in them - lack of faith.

Don't panic when trouble comes your way and in the midst of problems , learn not to be perplexed! Relax as Jesus did. It will be much more assuring to know that even at the inner part of the trouble, there is Jesus. You are not alone! As far as you believe in Him , He is always with you.

Although you will not see Jesus physically, be confident that He is there. He lives in you! Your faith in Jesus Christ makes you inseparable from Him. Jesus is the ever-present help in times of need and trouble. Faith is the rod of Moses that swallowed the rods of the Egyptian magicians.

The miraculous power was not in the rod itself; rather, it was in the faith of the rod bearer. It was faith that made Moses to carry out God's instruction which resulted in the miracle. Recall that the rod of Moses upon swallowing the Egyptian's rods remained the same.

Your faith stabilizes any stormy situation in your life.

It implies that the rods of the Egyptians had no weight! Your problems have no weight. Faith has the capacity to swallow all your problems. Don't let the problems of this life to weigh you down. Just exercise your faith. Through your faith in Him, Jesus will rebuke every ugly situation surrounding your life. You will see it and give praise to God. Outside the spiritual element called faith, you are not a child of God.

Faith is the basement, the foundation and the reason for your being a son of God. 'But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name' (John 1:12). Those disciples who exercised faith in the resurrected Jesus Christ made tremendous impact on people's lives so that the observers 'were filled with wonder and amazement ' (Acts 3:1-10).

By your faith in Jesus Christ, people will be amazed at the wondrous works of God in you. Always reflect on His love for you. Let your thought be absorbed in Him, and you will never be the same person.
