Feast begins at sundown the 18th of this month
It is celebrated staying up all night, reading the scriptures (especially the book of Ruth) and praying
Another thing that is done on Shavuot (feast of weeks) is the eating of dairy foods. This practice is a reminder of the Law since the words of Scripture are like milk and honey to the soul.
My favorite dairy food would be cheesecake for this feast occasion.
As a born again believer, Pentecost is a vary important part of life.
To be baptized in the Holy Spirit just as the disciples of Jesus were is the fulfillment of the feast.
So praying in the spirit with the evidence of speaking in an unknown heavenly tongue given by the Holy Spirit, Jesus baptizes all born again believers with this gift. To pray this way this night is very special for me.
The book of Ruth represents the "one new man" Ruth as the born again believer and Boaz as the Jew coming together in Yeshua
The union of them both formed the blood line of Jesus
There is much more that could be said about this feast, like the torah was given at this time
So it can be seen the word of God and the Spirit of God coming together on this feast time
