Most of us wants to be a leader. But it is necessary for us to know not just on how to become a leader, but on how to become effective leaders.

CALLED AND CHOSEN

God from the start had already chosen us when He planned creation. Since the time of our birth, God had been allowing us to experience great challenges. Without us realizing, from the very start, God is preparing us for this leadership he had given unto us.

THE PREPARATION

Setting the life of David as an example, he was being trained already at an early age to fight the beasts as he protects the sheep his father is allowing him to look after. With this simple responsibility, David did not expect that it God's preparation for Him. A preparation of not just protecting the sheep, but the nation of Israel.
With this training, David developed the ability of being courageous and fearless towards the work of the enemy, and also having a positive outlook towards his circumstances. These helped him when he faced the giant. With courage and assurance that God is backing him up, he fought and won the battle.

LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES

Strength and vigor are some qualities that distinguish wise leader. We also should consider these 5 principles as we become effective leaders. First is that we need to know that all things work together for our good. Second, there are no losers. God designed us to be a champion. Third is that it is necessary to assume responsibilities. Fourth is our absolute commitment in our ministry in the Lord. Lastly, we need to understand the importance of defining our short and long term goals.

I often think about how David's life prepared him for his calling . . . and Moses and Joseph and Nehemiah and Paul . . . the list goes on and on, affirming what you said above:

"Since the time of our birth, God had been allowing us to experience great challenges. Without us realizing, from the very start, God is preparing us for this leadership he had given unto us."

I believe this is crucial to understanding our purpose.
