Last week a non profit that we are associated with called Wellness INX. asked us if we could help them this week with a project they had. Wellness handles the case management for the Lansing Housing Coalition's permanent supportive housing program. This is a program that takes chronically homeless people off of the street and gets them into apartments, as long as they follow certain rules. Some of those rules are no drinking or drugs, home visits, stuff like that.
Normally the Lansing Housing Coalition delivers Christmas boxes to the people on this caseload, but this year they decided to let Wellness handle it. Only problem was they gave them like a week notice...
Endeavor House to the rescue!
Just kidding, but of course we were willing to give them a hand, and of course I took pictures. Unfortunately I was needed just as bad as everyone so I was not able to take a lot of them. I had to jump right in and start packing boxes, then go with the ladies to make deliveries. I did manage to take a few pictures and I hope you enjoy them!

Apparently guarding water is a 2 man job!
Finally we all were there and got to work! (I have the Mountain Dew)
We got to work and knocked it out. We were there about 8 hours total and we worked the whole time. I will tell you what, the people from Wellness kept telling us thank you, and even called me tonight to say it again!
Think what you want to about alcoholics and addicts, when they are doing the right thing, you couldn't ask for better people to do what needs done, and thank God, here at Endeavor House, we are helping these men to be those people!
