Today is a big day for me, and if you could find it in your heart to pray for me, I would appreciate all the help I could get.

I am 43 years old and I have never had a drivers license.

You see, when I was younger I had this bad habit of stealing things, cars included. The State of Michigan frowns on that practice and decided to take my license before I ever had it. They actually gave me a drivers license just so they could take it from me, and since I am also a knucklehead, I decided I was going to drive anyway.

Needless to say, they frown on that too...

Had one hearing and didn't like the outcome...

About 4 months ago I had a hearing with the Secretary of State and they denied me. They said that because I live in a Transitional Housing program I am not in "Real Recovery." They totally overlooked the fact that I am staff here and even though it is a controlled environment, I am the one controlling it!

They also said that because all of my letters of support were from people in recovery it was not an accurate representation of real life. They failed to see that everyone in my life now is in recovery! I just don't hang out with anyone that isn't, and that is how I stay clean!

So I appealed to the Circuit Court...

Good news for once!

When I filed my appeal I did not have enough money to hire a lawyer. I had to research and do it all myself and it was a pain! I found out after the fact that I had to give the Secretary of State 50 days notice, so I had to adjourn the hearing once. then I had to pay the Secretary of State $3.25 a page plus $25 fee for my transcript, that was $154! Talk about a racket!

But then I pulled my judge and found out it was the one judge in the court that is actually in recovery! I have sat across from this guy in meetings and he did the paperwork for the ministry I work for! How's that for God showing his presence?

So my hearing is at 11 this morning, if any of you happen to be speaking with God right around then, could you give me a recommendation? I would really appreciate it...
