People need a place to talk and share their feelings, but what if its late at night, or they don't live in a city and can't get to a group meeting? These people often struggle with addiction, depression, and thoughts of suicide, without someone to listen they might act on these thoughts.
Fortunately there is Discord!!
Discord is a place where people can come together and discuss things common to them,and there are chat-rooms for all sorts of various issues and ideas. Unfortunately there is not a dedicated room for addiction and recovery issues, or even just a support group type room for people to be able to talk, share their feelings, and discuss things that are bothering them.
I PROPOSE WE CHANGE THAT!!
I have spoken with the moderators on Discord and they told me that if I wrote a post and had fifteen or so people comment, say they supported the idea and would participate in it, then they would talk to me about creating a chat-room for this cause. I wrote a post, and have some comments on the thread, but not enough!
How you can help...
It is simple, I do not want your vote on this post, but I do need your supporting comment on this post -HERE- just click on the link and leave a comment saying you support the idea! That's all it takes!
What if it was your loved one alone at night with no one to talk to?
Don't we want to see Steemit become a place where people can seek out those that are experiencing the same things they are and join together with them, along with experiencing new things through the blogs of others? Isn't this a place to learn new things and trade new ideas? Come on folks, lets make this platform so much more than that un-named other where people encourage hate and intolerance, even egging others on to hurt themselves and other people. Lets set the bar high and create a place where people can seek support when they need it!!

I think this is a good idea - I have a friend who is going through something with her daughter at the moment - I hope they get the help she needs and from my side I can only pray for her and so many people that are alone and desperate
