JESUS CHRIST OUR THE MERCY SEAT

On top of the Ark of covenant is where the mercy seat is located, in the Holy Of Holies. You will recollect that the Ark of covenant which symbolises the presence of God. Was a throne of Judgement and mercy, before it became a throne of Grace.
Judgement falls on people that violates the Laws without mercy. And God only have mercy on those He chose to have mercy on.

“…and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.” (Exodus 33:19)

JUDGEMENT ON DEFAULTERS

Uzzah was struck dead for trying to support the Ark from falling down when the oxen shook it.
2Samuel 6:6-7
Why?
You may ask.
He was not qualified to touch the Ark of covenant because, he was not separated, sanctified, purified and consecrated to do so.
And unfortunately for him, he was not on the list of those whom God choose to have mercy on, as at that time. For God said:

“…and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.” (Exodus 33:19)

The two sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu were ordained priest, sanctified to come into God's presence. But they made an error or mistake of bringing strange fire, which God has commanded, that should not be brought before Him, and while they enter into the presence of God to burn incense. Fire came from the Lord and devoured them and they were killed instantly. Leviticus 10:1-2
Unfortunately, they also did not qualify to receive the mercy of God. Therefore judgment fell upon them.

It does not matter whether your actions are delineate or mistake in the presence of God.
Once you are not on God's mercy list. You receive the Judgement. This judgement comes from the presence of God.

"For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire..."
Deuteronomy 4:24

But when you are on His mercy list, you receive His mercy.

“…and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.” (Exodus 33:19)

You can now understand the Lamentation of the Prophet Jeremiah when he declared that;

"It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed.." Lamentation 3:22

Now back to the Ark of Covenant.

On top of the Ark of covenant is where the mercy seat is located.
That is where mercy are release only to those whom God chose to have mercy on.
And also where mercy now rejoices and triumph over Judgement.

",,,,and mercy rejoiceth against judgment."
James 2:13

This is because the Law, which is the basis on which Judgements are delivered is right inside the Ark.
That's talking about the Decalogue now, which is the Ten commandment. The mercy seat is on top of the Law rejoicing and triumphing over judgement.
You will also observe that on top of the Ark of covenant on both sides facing each other and looking at the mercy seat in their middle are two Cherubims.

CHERUBIMS GUARDS THE ENTRANCE TO THE GARDEN AT EDEN

You will also recollect that when Adam was sent out of the beautiful Garden of Eden. It was Cherubims that were guarding the entrance with flaming Swords in their hands to prevent Adam from entering into the garden and get hold of the tree of life, that can make him become spiritually dead through out eternity, beyond redemption. Genesis 3:24

But now these Cherubims on the Ark of covenant have no swords in their hands. Because mercy now rejoices and triumph over judgment.
But then, mercy is still released based on God's choice of who He wants to have mercy on.

GOD HAS A CHOICE OF WHO TO LOVE AND WHO NOT TO LOVE UNDER OLD DISPENSATION

Under this old dispensation, God has choice of whom to also love and not to love.
He said: "Jacob I love, Esau I hate." Romans 9:13
He decided to shower His mercy on Jacob (which is an act of His love) and did not do the same for Esau.
Though God was not referring to their personality, but what these two individuals represented in His plan of redemption.
All these are still under the Old dispensation of Law.

HOW ALL THESE APPLY TO US UNDER THE DISPENSATION OF GRACE

Now let us look at how all these applies to us under this present dispensation of Grace.
HALLELUJAH!
Christ Jesus has made all the difference!
Mercy is no longer a matter of God's choice, of whom He will have mercy on.
Jesus Christ through His sacrificial death and resurrection has now, made every human being qualified, on the platform of His
Grace, to have access to God's mercy.

That is why, we always give thanks to God who has made us meet (qualify us) to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light. Colossian 1:12
One of these inheritance of the saints is the MERCY of God.
Every humanity, who has gotten the new birth which admits you in, as a member of the family of God and a Joint heir with Christ, are all qualify to receive and obtain the mercy of God.

It is not about willing or struggling to have it. It is a provision that has been made available by Christ on the platform of His grace. It has already been provided.
All you just need to do, is to key into God's abundant provisions in Christ on this platform of His grace.

So how do i access it?
You may ask.
You can access it, with boldness, by entering into the Throne of grace, which is entering into the presence of God (The power House Of Faith).
It is a provision already made available in the presence of God.
And we read:

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace THAT WE MAY OBTAIN MERCY and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrew 4:16)

Once you enter into the power house of Faith (The throne of Grace)!
You have it!
I decree, as from this moment, God in His infinite mercy, shall shower His abundant mercy upon you and your entire family in every areas of your endeavours in life, In Jesus Mighty name. Amen!
