A big question to ask at times is whether or not we truly desire God to be there with us in the first place. Too often Christians are verbally theistic, but practically atheistic. We say God is real, but live like He is not. If not this pattern, Christians often only want God if He will answer our supplication over repentance, and if He will indulge sin rather than judge sin. To be in the right mindset of remembering God's omnipresence and sovereignty, we have to desire practical theism, with all that entails. When conviction comes, we accept it; when blessing comes, we thank Him; when tragedy occurs, we mourn with Him. We must live like Jesus matters to us, or abandon the title of Christian altogether.
