When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: then I was by him. - Proverbs 8:29-30

The Father did not create without her by his side.

The Qualities of Wisdom from James 3:17

It is important to understand, first, that this is wisdom not in time, but in thought. This is how wisdom meets your thought-life.

Wisdom is first of all pure

Meaning it does not drag a million things in with it. It is not chaotic. Sometimes thoughts are lined with barbs that flow into our consciousness snagging a hundred different hodgepodge of worries and anxieties. Wisdom is pure like water it flows in with not thought of anything, but it's own intent. It does not attempt to turn the tables on your thought life or make a grand entrance. We must remember, 'love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.' Being receptive to wisdom is much like making your mind an abode for her ways. We do that by loving her ways and seeking her.

Then peaceable

Thinking of water again wisdom is more like a gentle stream than it is a raging torrent crashing against your thoughts. It does not come to destroy, steal, or kill. It is not there to wage war against other foreign elements and if she does come to wage war it is not in a way of 'violence' or 'force'. Wisdom applies it's will in a way that is subtle and like anything sacred only those who come to honor wisdom can understand her ways.

Then gentle

'to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.' -Titus 3:2

She does not come to set anything against. She does not come to raise you up by putting down. It is a soft touch and the softest touch is the only touch that can heal a hard heart. It knows your feelings, the depth of your suffering, and it does not consider it a trifle.

Easily entreated

So easily that the merest intent towards her will grab her attention. Remember though, 'I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.'

Full of mercy and good fruits

For us we do not deserve it, but God is gracious.

The good fruits are known

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The main one opposed is in the previous verse

For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. -James 3:16

Self ambition works for silver and gold, but wisdom is more precious.

Without partiality

It does not see anyone differently than another. Her answer is the same to the brute and the saint.

Sincere

The only thing in the whole universe that is truly so because it is sincere through and through, eternally so.
