“And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.” (Matthew 14: 22)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Jesus forced His disciples into a ship that was to take them to the other side, and while they were at it, He sent the multitude away. This was the same multitude that enjoyed the miracle of the multiplication of bread and fish; but Jesus sent them away as He sent His disciples on a journey to the other side. The multitude was still there when the disciples began their journey; they moved despite the multitude.
Friend, no matter the multitude around you, keep moving. No matter how many people are impressed with your level of efficiency and competence, keep moving; no matter how people celebrate your accomplishments, keep moving; no matter the multitude of distractions surrounding you, keep your eyes fixed on the assignments God has put in your hands; no matter the multitudes that are doing what is wrong, dare to do right.
Jesus’ disciples moved when the multitudes were yet to leave. The multitudes around you may not have left, things that are distracting you may not have been taken away, you may not have solved your multitude of problems, but keep moving. Focus on your goals, destination, targets, etc and keep moving.
When Jesus’ disciples moved, the multitudes walked away. They saw a people that were on the move, and they had to leave. If you keep moving, needless multitudes around you will walk away. If you keep improving, some multitudes who can't keep up will walk away. If you move, the empty multitude will fizzle out.
Don’t be counted among those who failed to move because there was a multitude watching and cheering. Move in spite of the multitude.
Declare With Me: No matter the multitude, I keep moving, in Jesus’ name!
Good morning.
