Plague: Locusts, Cockroaches Invaded Islam's Sacred City

Officials of specialized sanitation were deploy to the Holiest city of Islam, Mecca in Saudi Arabia in order to clear the massive invasion of locusts and Cockroaches.

In a statement by Municipal authority in Mecca; "We have harnessed all efforts available to speed up the eradication of the insects in the interest of the safety and comfort of guests to God's house."

It was estimated that over 300,000 night cockroaches and black grasshopper were found in the religious site which draws millions of Muslims faithful every each. The Mosque is rated as the second largest Mosque in the world.

About 22 teams consisting of 138 individuals and 111 devices were sent to combat the plague thereby targeting breading and gathering sites like water drains, toilets.

Meanwhile, Saudi dwellers has took the social media to share the locusts and cockroaches at the location.

From the other hand Mecca authorities shared on twitter, the clean up process done by the deployed crew.
