YOUTH ABANDONING RELIGIONsteemCreated with Sketch.

College-aged millennials today are far more likely than the general population to be religiously unaffiliated. This is true when they are compared to previous generations as well. Just over 60 percent of millennials say that Christianity is “judgmental,” and 64 percent say that “anti-gay” best describes most churches today. In ministry circles, it has long been reported that of youth raised in homes that were to some degree “Christian,” roughly three-quarters will jettison that faith after high school. Just under half of this number will return to some level of church involvement in their late 20s or early 30s.

This is because some college aged youngsters are able to think for themselves and thus question their surroundings. And within their surroundings your bound to find religion, and this for those college-aged millennials in question have to decided to abandon because they simply came to the conclusion that religion doesn't quite add up.

This would be no surprise for those who have read the such religious texts such as the Bible and have come across the Old Testament passage in Leviticus which comes across as homophobic by stating that homosexuality is a sin, and Islam has its fair share of homophobia as examples cannot only be found in passages within the Quran but also throughout the Muslim community worldwide. And its not uncommon to find millennials who grow up religious but then as they approach adulthood, their religious upbringing goes out of the window. But for some, they rediscover their religious faith around the late 20's or even early 30's.

Some research was carried out in relation to this topic and the findings are as follows:
*Those who grew up in the digital age, have an entirely different mindset to those who grew up in other generations
*Family breakdown
*The rise of secularism
*Lack of spirituality in adulthood
*Religion's diminishing influence on society
*Skepticism

Great article. Millenials have the chance to finally finish this cancer that has been killing societies for a very very long time. Religion doesn't work, religion is evil. It corrupts people and will drag you to hell.
Jesus is the answer for this problem. Millenials need a friend-savior and not a savior-friend to re-instate the relationship with our creator that was established in the beginning and that has being replaced with so many boring and non-Biblical rituals done in the church. Our nature alone as human beings will bring us back to our creator. May God bless the younger generations and help them to abolish religion once and for all.
