We are all a product of the decisions we make in our lives. Some of our decisions will have huge impacts on the whole of our lives, and some decisions have seemingly smaller impacts than others; yet we never really know until much later in life how a decision we made years ago has affected our today!
Just talking to my husband about how he came to go to the university in my home town, I realise that just a few tiny little adjustments in his life would have meant that we probably would never have met. Had we never have met, my life would have been so different, and our children wouldn't exist.
It's sobering to think that such seemingly small events could have caused our whole lives to be completely different.
It gives me cause to reflect greatly when making a decision in my life. Even the smallest decision now could perhaps have huge repercussions later down the line.
There are therefore two things we should do, daily:
Don't make decisions rashly
Make sure that decisions are made with thought and care, not on a whim and on the back of a fleeting high emotion. That often means keeping our lips buttoned, and our temper in check.Know that all our steps are ordered of the Lord
He has a plan for our lives, and if we seek His Wisdom and guidance every day, then we will be led by His Spirit and we will make wise choices throughout our day.
