These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33.
Jesus Christ of Nazareth drew the attention of his disciples to his spoken Word. He said these things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. The spoken Word lays our deliverance and peace.
When we study the Word without speaking it in faith to our life, we only get knowledge, which is good in itself. However, if we want peace or deliverance the Word must move from the mind/heart to the mouth; in other words, the Word must be spoken in faith to produce solution to our challenges.
After we have spoken the Word in faith, we must be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world; hence there is that assurance that we also have overcome the world.

When you read words don't you speak them in your mind also? Don't you hear them as if you were speaking them out loud?
Matthew 5:27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
If imagining sin in our heart is the same as if we had committed it why should a prayer in our heart be any less powerful than confessing it in front of a full church?

I think you are right in this. If we only receive peace after we speak what we know and believe, what of the Helen Kellers of the world. Peace is internalized in the heart. Circumcision is of the heart.
