'he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.' (Psalm 55:22)
This promise comes after the LORD has promised to sustain you through your burdens - 'Cast thy burdens upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee'.
You will have burdens. It is implied in the verse that you will have burdens in this life.
But you are exhorted to cast them upon the LORD, and trust in His sustaining grace.
Amidst the presence of these very real burdens, God says 'he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved'.
Not to be moved.
That does not mean you will be a stoic and never be touched or affected by life's burdens. On the contrary, you already feel pain, and the pain moves you to tears - crying to God to help you in tough times.
What does it mean then?
The key is in the word, righteous.
God will not permit you to be moved from the path of righteousness, to lose your character as 'the righteous' child of God.
Though you are cruelly tortured and murdered as some of the saints were in Hebrews 11:35-37, God will not allow you to falter in your faith.
You will be kept in the path of right, firmly holding onto the eternal truth governing this world and found in the Word of God.
Amen.
