Today my little 2 year old baby Lumina has been struggling with terrifying seizures, shivers, fevers and vomiting her desperately needed nutrition.

As I struggle to hold back the tears I read my daily devotionals and as I have always seen before, God speaks through His living word, the Bible. He has encouragement and strength for me, my wife and our family. The question is whether I can accept that truth and put it to work...

Today we read in my Bible in a Year devotional about Matthew 6:25, do not be worried about tomorrow. As I said I know this measage is for me because I have been worrying: about these seizures, about my wife, my other daughter, work and today two very sad and concerning new events from my close family.

Bible in a Year:

Stop worrying and start living

"Jesus commands you not to worry about your life or material things (Matthew 6:25,28–31). Think ahead, plan ahead, but don’t worry ahead. Trust in your Heavenly Father to provide (v.26). He knows your every need (v.32). Faith is the antidote to worry."

"You cannot add a single hour to your life by worrying (v.27). As Corrie ten Boom put it: ‘Worry does not empty tomorrow of sorrow; but it empties today of strength'."

My Thoughts:

I know this lesson is for me and I believe this to be true however its hard to set my bags, pain and brokeness at the foot of the cross as I should.

I know I try to carry the weight and I shouldn't and cannot but I try and it killing me. What's worse the enemy is at my ear everytime I back off and let God take over, "aren't you going to help?" he'll say, "don't you care?"

I saw a sermon the other day, and the content was around this idea, the devil will lead us astray by distracting us like this, "go help your girl", and that is a distraction because I need God to take her to safety: I need to stand down.

The pastor said, the devil will make you choose something "good" when God wants you to choose something "better".

Of course I care about my baby, of course I want to help end this pain but God is clear this is beyond my authority and power... but fortunately not beyond His.

Conclusion:

If you are in the deep dark parts of life, please know the Lord wants to walk with you and help carry those burdens but we need to surrender our false sense of "control".

I cant stop these seizures.
You cant remove the cancer.
She cant break the chains of addiction.

But the Lord of love, light, power and wisdom can do it for us.

Quran says us "Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere" 2:155..

Después de la tormenta llega la calma siempre con mucha fe.

Wow amigo, pasas por muchas cosas. ojala que todo salga bien :D

Being worried is almost impossible whe there is something to be worried about... I have developed a habit of instead of worrying i meditate on the promises of God and its has been productive.
