Hello Steemitians it gives me great pleasure to write to you.
It's said that an idle man is the workshop of the devil. The term been idle is when one happens not to be in action or at work. The concept of a workshop plainly is a place of work that generates the interest of the owner with the aid of tools.
So becoming the workshop of the devil means that at the state of idleness he interfaces with your mind and tries out his tools of lust, immorality, anger... to ensure that his interest (devil's) is realized.
Briefly studying the scene between David and Uriah's wife in the Bible made me to realize how dangerous idleness can be.
We were made to know in 2nd Samuel chapter 11 that David decided to remain in his place when he was suppose to be with his army(as at that time kings fought war alongside with their army) wrestling with his enemies for victory.
So one of the evenings he arose and walked on the roof of his house.
Let stop here now; of all places what made him walk on the roof?(The Devil) and why did the devil make him to walk on the roof?(The Trap) or do you think it was just a mere coincident for both action(bathing and walking on the roof) occurring at the same time?(No)
He is really smart. After he saw her bathing, it was written in verse 2 that
she was beautiful to look upon
Who made that statement?, It wasn't just a statement it was trying to tell us the manner at which the devil had invaded his mind. It was more like the state of his mind.
I am sure that before that night he had come across Uriah's wife(maybe by introduction), So what made her more beautiful?(her nudity) which made him unable to control himself, because the right state of his mind had been washed away, because of how he openly welcomed idleness. The repercussion for his action was a painful one...
So Steemitians, always try to engage in one activity or the other when your mind happens to be enticed with negative thoughts. Sometimes even when working negative thoughts parade our mind, i hope you remembered how Jesus triumphed over the temptation of Satan... He rebuked him, the bible made it clear to us that ** resist/rebuke the Devil and he will flee from you**
Thanks for sighting

For some reason idleness is also hard to bear for a lot of people. I find it hard to not work for a longer period of time than a week or two - unless there is some substitute activity for it like travel.
They say "doing nothing is the most tiring of all activities"
