You are completely wrong. If you keep reading in John 8, as soon as Jesus said that, "before Abraham was, I AM." the Jews standing there picked up stones to stone him. Why? Because they KNEW He was calling Himself God.

There are actually 7 times Jesus called Himself "I AM" in John (6:35, 8:12, 10:9, 10:11, 11:25-26, 14:6, and 15:5,).

Tie John 8:56-59 with Exodus 3:13-15 AND with Jude 5 !!!

Not only did Jesus call Himself God, but so did his disciples, Paul, John, and Jude, and the OT prophets. There is NO disputing that JESUS IS GOD.
