"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." (I Peter 3:18a)

(Image: Original painting--"Three Arch Bridge", 16" x 20," acrylic on canvas by Matt Philleo)

Several years ago, I was asked to paint this picture of a bridge in my hometown of Merrill, WI. It is a historic bridge spanning the Prairie River in Stange's Park.

When I looked at this painting, I thought of how Jesus Christ spans the gulf between us and God, like a bridge over troubled water. Our sins separate us, but the righteous Christ who never sinned brings us to God. He is the Bridge.

It's a very simple message, but the gospel is a simple message--with profound implications.

Enjoy the simplicity and power of the gospel today.

Be blessed,

Great one @mattphilleo.

I appreciate that, Emma!

Lovely and beautiful painting. I love that verse that you quoted. You have a good talent and i'm glad you're using it for the glory of God. Blessings

Thank you, Kingsley! I give God the credit for my talent. Have a blessed day!

Nice painting sir, the word of God enlightened my day. :)

I'm glad for that. The Word of God has that power. In fact, I often pray before reading the Bible: "Lord, use your word to convict me of sin, comfort me, guide me, and enlighten me."
