Greater Works Than These Shall You Do.

John 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." This for me is the capstone. Jesus would be remiss if He tells us we are capable of doing something He knew we were incapable of doing. But that clearly isn't His modus operandi.

The Lord affirms that we are able to do much more, or in His own words, greater works than the ones His performed shall we be capable of doing because the Lord returns to the Father. Think about all that the Lord accomplished while on earth, then imagine us doing greater works!

Looking through our genealogy of faith we have some excellent examples of men, women and young maidens whose work and words changed the course of mens lives and altered destinies for good. Think about Abraham's faith; Moses parting the sea; Joshua speaking to the sun and moon to stand-still; David putting an end to Goliath. Think about the courage and passion of Jesus; the passion of Stephen, stoned to death; Peter hung against an upside down cross; John banished to the Island of Patmos for refusing to die!

In the light of all these, Jesus was bold to say "greater works shall we do"! In this month of the greater light, we have an opportunity to step into something far greater than ourselves. First, refuse to answer whatever label the world might have placed on you. Refuse their label and embrace your true calling in God!

The time for our showing forth is now! Let God be true and everyman a lair!
