Prayers From the Heart: A Prayer for Those Who Reject Us

Heavenly Father,

Sometimes it seems like a lonely road, walking on Your narrow path. Often times I’m ridiculed, thought of as strange, and ostracised because I choose to follow You. Unbelievers think I’m crazy, and many believers think I’m too extreme. But You, Lord, are more than worth all my devotion, and if I must choose between You and people, I choose You. I’m not asking You to change these circumstances, but I’m praying for those people who don’t want company with me because of the fact that I follow You with all my heart. For the unbelievers, that You would open their eyes. The reason they want nothing to do with me, is really because they don’t know You, and want nothing to do with You. For the believers, that You would open their eyes, too, and that my example would encourage them to seek Your face with everything within them.

Lord, I pray that they would recognize how good You really are. The unbelievers may be Your enemies now, but You extend Your salvation to anyone who will believe in and obey You. You loved me first, that’s why I love You. When I was yet a sinner and Your enemy, You died for me, and You have Saved me and you keep me. And You have done, and can do, exactly the same for them, too.

Lord, I pray that they may know You, too. Convict them, draw them, do whatever it takes to cause them to look to You alone, Jesus, and see how desperately they are in need of You.

And for those who are professing believers, but actually working against You in ignorance, I pray they be ignorant no more and instead work with You and not grieve Your Holy Spirit. I pray You lead them into all truth and that they turn away from any doctrinal deceptions they have fallen for.
