Today my message is gonna be in a different dimension, I'll be talking about Christianity and Politics
WHAT IS CHRISTIANITY???
According to Oxford dictionary, Christianity is the religion based on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ, or its beliefs and practices.
WHAT IS POLITICS???
Politics is the art or science concerned with guiding or influencing governmental policy
It is also defined as
The art or science concerned with winning and holding control over a government
WHY CHRISTIANS DON'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN POLITICS..
. Christians think politics is a dirty game, tho Catholics venture into politics but most Christians like the baptist dormitory don't like participating in politics cos they think its a dirty game.
. Many (not all) Players in politics are cultists and they perform rituals
. Politics involves meeting at odd hours and Christians believe its bad to go out late in the night
. Christians sees politicians as liars
. They are afraid its going to make them backslide as politics involves lots of bad acts
. Elections usually involve rigging, rituals, bloodshed, fights etc
. Christians believe election is a do or die affair
WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN POLITICS
. Politics is not bad but personalities involved made it bad
. It is a civic responsibility of every citizen irrespective the religion and tribe
. Governance is power
. They have relinquish power to unbelievers
. Unbelievers have been ruling Nigeria for a very long time
. To make the nation a God fearing nation if a christian rules
TO BE A CHRISTIAN POLITICIAN
. Don't just be a voter.
. Join a political party
. Be a good example in your society
. Even if you won't participate in politics, support who is going to make Christianity proud and the community. Be a citizen of the nation (National ID card)
. You need your Permanent voters' card (PVC)
. Monitoring votes to ensure there is no rigging
Communicating any bad act at the election ground to the right authorities
