THE SPIRIT OF LOVE

Scripture in 2 Timothy 1:7 says, 

"For God hath not given us the Spirit of fear; but of power, and of LOVE, and of sound mind". 

The Holy Spirit manifest also as the spirit of Love. You need the impartation of the Spirit of Love. Loving God is a master key to a world of wonders. Lovers serve God for who he is. God does not use men, he bless them. Anything he ask you to do is for your own benefit. Many people misrepresent God to the world, especially when it comes to giving; but God does not depend on your pocket, rather your pocket depends on him.

The Holy Spirit is a driver and a mover, he can move people into different things - Mark 1:12. In Romans 5:5 scripture says, 

"...the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us". 

The Holy Spirit is the one who drives us into loving God always. When things are rough and you still love him as when it was smooth, it takes the Holy ghost to do so. The greatest thing in your life is the love of God. All the millionaires of the bible such as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon etc, have one thing in common, they all had a heart of love for God. Love is the constance of our destiny. There is no way you can love God without the Holy Spirit.

The foundation for Abraham's blessing is the love of God, which makes him like God, he gave his only son Isaac. The love of God will make you to go extra length for people. David, because of  the love he had for God and his covenant, went extra length by not not killing King Soul, even though he had the opportunity to do so. He remembered the word of the Lord that says "Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm". It is not possible to put God first in your life without the love of God. Humans are naturally selfish, it is the Spirit of God that drives us into love. The Spirit of love makes people think you are crazy when you are possessed by it; this Spirit of love will make you to continue to serve God, people's criticism not withstanding.

Lovers are able to touch the heart of God very fast. In God's kingdom, there are crawlers, walkers, runners and flyers. It is the degree of your love for him that determines where God places you. How much you move forward in God's kingdom is determined by your love for him. In the days of the Israelites, the only man that could cut the head of Goliath is the man that had the heart of God which is David. In Romans 8:28, 

"...all things work together for good..." 

Not just for Christians, but for all that Love God. You can't be a true lover of God and be a loser. Every anointed lover of God will end up a star. The real fact that accounts for a glorious destiny is love. 

God will never neglect a lover no matter the challenge. Despite the great challenge in the life of Job, he by love still prayed for his friends. No wonder God turned his captivity and made his end far better. Jesus knew the place of love, and when he was leaving, he asked Peter who returned to his fishing business, 

"Loveth me more than this".  

You must not love God for what he does for you, but for who he is. Your love for God is the life wire of your destiny. God is not a respecter of person, but of those who love him. He says "My son, give me your heart". Have you come to a point where you tell God 

"I know you will meet my needs; but even if you don't meet it, I won't stop loving you". 

How Do You Know You Love God? 

In 2 Corinthians 8:8b, scripture says, "...to prove the sincerity of your love". How can you prove whether or not you sincerely love God?

1. You can't love God and not love his word: If you love him, you will constantly hear, read and study his word. You can't love somebody without wanting to hear his words. If love God, you will have time for his word, just as drunkards have time for their alcoholic drink. What you love, you will have time for. Many Christians today are singing to God, "I love more than anything...", but I perceive the angels are saying, "We can't see it". There are many fake lovers today in the body of Christ. 

2. If you love God, you will love his house: An adage says, "It is the house of a person you don't love that is always too far to go". If you don't like to go to Church when its time for fellowship, it is a proof you don't love God. David, a lover of God says, 

"I am glad when they say come let us go into the house of the Lord".

 Another lover of God says in Psalm 84:1-2, 

"How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God". 

3. If you love God, you will love his people: Scripture in 1 John 4:20-21 says, 

"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God loveth his brother also".

The love of God in your heart will naturally provoke your hatred for his enemies; in the same manner, it should naturally provoke love for his children. If you love God's people, you will practically show it by giving to them, by visiting and praying for them etc. You can't accept it when a man says he loves you and hates your children; in the same way God will not agree if you say you love him, yet you don't love his people.
